Rupee falls by 41 paisa against USD

The greenback closed at Rs154.78
KARACHI (Dunya News) – The exchange rate of US Dollar increased by 41 paisa in the interbank on Wednesday against Pakistani rupee. The greenback closed at Rs154.78 on third business day of the week compared to previous closing of 154.37.
Since start of May, dollar has risen by 1.42 paisa. However, the greenback has lost 13.65 rupees or 8.45 percent of its value from its peak of 168.43 in August 2020.
Meanwhile, the price of euro appreciated by 20 paisa and closed at Rs189.40 against the last working day’s trading of Rs189.20, the State Bank of Pakistan reported.
The Japanese Yen closed at Rs1.42, whereas an increase of 3 paisa was witnessed in the exchange rate of British Pound, which was traded at Rs219.02 as compared to its last closing of Rs218.99.
The exchange rates of Emirates Dirham and Saudi Riyal increased by about 12 paisa each to close at Rs42.14 and Rs41.27 respectively.
