Shehbaz Sharif's name included in ECL: Sh Rashid

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid on Thursday has told that the name of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) president and opposition leader in National Assembly (NA) Shehbaz Sharif has been put on Exit Control List (ECL). The minister said that a summary in this regard has also been forwarded to cabinet. Talking about the attacks of Israeli forces on Palestinians, Sheikh Rashid urged the international community to mediate and resolve the issue. Pakistani people condemn the atrocities of Israel and pledged support to the oppressed Palestinians, he asserted.
Addressing a news conference in Islamabad, along with Prime Minister s Advisor on Interior and Accountability Shahzad Akbar, Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid said that Shehbaz Sharif was not on the blacklist adding that no accused could be treated in a special way.
The interior minister said that there are three lists to prevent someone from travelling abroad, one is the black list, into which someone s name is included by the Passport Office.
He said that the second is PNIL, into which someone s name is added by the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) and the third is the Exit Control List (ECL) into which the federal cabinet has the authority to put someone s name.
He said that Shehbaz Sharif can request to appear before the committee within 15 days.
