Sh Rashid releases details regarding being prisoners repatriated from Saudi Arabia

The minister said that prisoners involved in petty crimes are to be shifted to Pakistani jails.
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmed on Tuesday released the details regarding Pakistanis imprisoned in Saudi Arabia being brought back to the country.
The interior minister said that 1,100 prisoners including 22 prisoners involved in 22 drugs and 8 murder convicts would be shifted to Pakistani jails.
"I have requested Prime Minister Imran Khan for a fund of Rs 1 billion, adding that if approved, hundreds of prisoners imprisoned since 2005 for petty crimes could be released," he said.
The minister went on to say that prisoners involved in petty crimes are to be shifted to Pakistani jails under the agreement with Saudi Arabia.
On Monday, in an interview to Saudi Arabian newspaper, Sheikh Rashid said that 1100 Pakistani prisoners in Saudi Arabian jails will soon be released and brought back to their country as per the agreement signed during Prime Minister Imran Khan’s visit.
The minister said that Pakistanis imprisoned for serious crimes will be dealt separately.
