NCOC decides not to allow processions on Youm-e-Ali (RA)
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – The National Command and Operation Center (NCOC) has decided to ban all sorts of processions whilst permitting Majalis under strict Covid SOPs on the occasion of Youm-e-Ali (RA).
An NCOC meeting chaired by Minister for Planning and Development Asad Umar in Islamabad made the decision today.
The decision was taken keeping in view the risk factor due to the ongoing surge in Covid-19 especially in major urban centers.
On the other hand, the Auqaf department has banned Itikaf, a notification has been issued in this regard
According to the notification, the decision was taken in view of the serious situation of Coronavirus. A complete ban has been imposed on Itikaf at mosques and shrines.
The forum emphasized the need to engage the religious scholars and community leaders at provincial and district levels for implementation of these decisions.
