Punjab govt decides to close schools in more districts

He said students of class nine to twelve in 17 districts would come to school for two days a weeks.
LAHORE (Dunya News) – In view of rising coronavirus cases, Punjab government on Friday decided to close schools in more districts of the province.
The announcement has been made by Punjab Education Minister Murad Ross in his latest tweet, he said that in view of the increasing cases of coronavirus, it has been decided to close all government and private schools in 17 districts of the province.
Dr Murad wrote in his tweet that schools had already been closed in 13 districts while today it has been decided to close schools in four more districts including Okara, Jhang, Khanewal and Bhakkar.

— Murad Raas (@DrMuradPTI) April 23, 2021He said that students of class nine to twelve in 17 districts would come to school for two days a week, while schools in the remaining districts of Punjab will remain open as per the old schedule with full implementation of SOPs.
He said the decision to close schools was difficult but was made to protect students and teachers, adding that their lives cannot be endangered at any cost.
It is pertinent to mention here that the government had earlier decided to close schools from first to eighth grade in 13 districts of Punjab till Eidul Fitr.
