FM Qureshi leaves for Iran after completing UAE visit

The foreign minister thanked the Iranian leadership's categorical stance on Kashmir dispute.
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi on Tuesday has left for Iran after completing a three-day official visit to the United Arab Emirates (UAE). In a video message before departure, Shah Mahmood Qureshi said that the visit will provide him an opportunity to discuss the regional situation with the Iranian leadership. Shah Mahmood Qureshi said that being the neighbor of Afghanistan, the Afghan peace process is also important for Iran just like Pakistan. He thanked the Iranian leadership’s categorical stance on Kashmir dispute. Shah Mahmood Qureshi said the talks with Iranian leadership will also focus on promoting bilateral cooperation. He said both Pakistan and Iran have supported each other in difficult times and it will be our endeavor to further strengthen the relationship.
Earlier in the day, Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) had reaffirmed the desire to further strengthen their bilateral relations in different fields.
The understanding came at a meeting between Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi and Emirati Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan in Abu Dhabi.
They reviewed the entire gamut of bilateral relations, discussing ways to enhance cooperation in diverse areas including trade, investment, infrastructure, energy, technology, tourism and manpower.
The two Foreign Ministers also discussed ways to provide fresh impetus to existing Pakistan-UAE ties. In this regard, they agreed to facilitate Ministerial level visits from both sides.
