IMF wants Pakistan to introduce tax reforms, limit tax exemptions

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – The International Monetary Fund (IMF) on Wednesday said that it wants Pakistan to introduce tax reform and must also limit tax exemptions.
IMF Representative Tracy Doban Sanchez told Webinar that the uncertain global situation is a challenge for Pakistan. “We want tax reforms in the Pakistan,” she said and added there is need to limit tax exemptions.
She said that there is need to help poor segment of the society in Pakistan, adding that Islamabad must contain line losses.
Pakistan s economy had stabilized prior to coronavirus pandemic and FATF targets were being met, while loans and government guarantees in Pakistan have also reached 92.8% of the economy.
