Protest by religious party causes terrible traffic jams in major cities

LAHORE (Dunya News) - Citizens across the country are facing severe difficulties due to worsening traffic jams in various cities caused by the protest of a religious party. Entrances and exits to Lahore and Rawalpindi are blocked while motorways have also been closed down.

According to sources, there are severe traffic jams in different parts of Lahore. Traffic remains paralyzed at Lahore High Court Chowk, Regal Chowk, Out fall Road, Yateem Khana Chowk, Khayaban Chowk, Daroghwala Chowk and up to Quaid-e-Azam Interchange. In Faisalabad, traffic flow has been severely affected due to closure of various highways.

Roads in different parts of Islamabad and Rawalpindi have also been blocked, causing long queues of vehicles at various places including Faizabad, Murree Road, Rawal Dam, Liaquat Bagh, Kashmir Chowk and Tarnol.

The Mangla Bridge has been closed for traffic, causing severe inconvenience to citizens. Pattoki Road was blocked and protests in Phool Nagar have led to long queues of vehicles on both sides. GT Road in Jhelum has also been blocked on both sides.

In Karachi, long queues of vehicles have formed on I.I.Chundrigar Road, Shahra-e-Faisal, Tower, Baldia Town, Orangi Town, Liaquatabad, Issa Nagri as well as different parts of Malir.
