NDMA provides 124 more ventilators to Punjab hospitals after surge in covid cases

Seventy ventilators have been provided to the hospitals of Lahore.
LAHORE (Dunya News) – The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has on Saturday provided 124 more ventilators to the hospitals of Punjab after surge in covid-19 cases reached alarming level in the province.
Seventy ventilators have been provided to the hospitals of Lahore including twenty to General Hospital, sixteen to Services Hospital, fourteen to Mayo Hospital and ten each to Sir Ganga Ram Hospital and Jinnah Hospital.
Eighteen ventilators have been provided to Multan’s Nishtar Hospital and eight apiece to DHQ Hospitals in Faisalabad and Gujranwala. Ventilators are also being provided to eleven teaching hospitals.
Let it be known that Pakistan has reported 67 deaths in the last 24 hours by novel coronavirus as the number of positive cases has surged to 649,824. The nationwide tally of fatalities has jumped to 14,158.
According to the latest figures by the National Command and Operation Center (NCOC) 4,468 persons tested positive for COVID-19 in the past 24 hours. Punjab remains the worst-hit province in terms of deaths followed by Sindh and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Till now 264,355 coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Sindh, 210,095 in Punjab 83,630 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 55,056 in Islamabad, 19,453 in Balochistan, 12,245 in Azad Kashmir and 4,990 in Gilgit-Baltistan.
Furthermore 6,190 individuals have lost their lives to the epidemic in Punjab 4,487 in Sindh, 2,274 in KP, 557 in Islamabad, 342 in Azad Kashmir, 205 in Balochistan, and 103 in GB.
Pakistan has so far conducted 10,021,070 coronavirus tests and 44,279 in the last 24 hours. 593,282 coronavirus patients have recovered in the country whereas 2,842 patients are in critical condition.
