Covid spread rate reaches eight percent in Punjab: Yasmin Rashid

FAISALABAD (Dunya News) – Punjab Health Minister Dr. Yasmin Rashid Monday said the covid-19 spread rate has reached eight percent in the province, and the government has increased the number of tests.
The provincial minister talked to media and said the infectivity rate of Lahore is eleven percent and of Faisalabad is nine percent. The new wave is deadly for individuals over 55 years of age, she added.
Yasmin Rashid said coronavirus vaccine has been administered to one hundred and sixteen thousand frontline health workers so far and further 44 million doses will arrive soon.
The health minister regretted that the opposition is doing politics over the pandemic and urged it cooperate with the government. The current variant of coronavirus resembles 70% to the United Kingdom’s, she said.
