Karachi field isolation center to be temporarily shut down after fall in coronavirus cases
KARACHI (Dunya News) - The Sindh government has decided to temporarily shut down the Field Isolation Center in Karachi following a reduction in new Covid-19 cases. The last patient at Expo Center Karachi has also been discharged.
A statement issued by the Sindh Health Department said that a field isolation center was set up at the Expo center in the early days of the outbreak. A total of 2,300 patients were brought in to the isolation center, 1,170 of whom were placed in the intensive care unit while about 200 succumbed to the virus.
The number of coronavirus patients in government hospitals is also declining. Jinnah Hospital intensive care and HDU have only 4 remaining coronavirus patients.
In addition, only one patient of the virus is undergoing treatment at New Karachi Hospital, 19 in Civil Hospital, 45 in the coronavirus center in Nipa while 25 patients are undergoing treatment at Lyari General Hospital.
