Narendra Modi staged Pulwama drama to attain political success, FM Qureshi said.
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi Saturday said Pakistan displayed India the capability to retaliate strongly against any aggression on February 27, 2019.
The foreign minister addressed a ceremony in the federal capital on the second anniversary of Operation Swift Retort and said Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi staged Pulwama drama to attain political success.
Shah Mehmood Qureshi said, “Islamabad had made it clear to New Delhi that it would face strong retaliation in case of any misadventure. The world witnessed that Pakistan released the captured Indian pilot for peace.
“Pakistan opened the Kartarpur corridor while defending its sovereignty and borders. On the other hand, India has put the peace of the entire region at stake and is violating worst human rights violation in occupied Kashmir.”
It is pertinent here to mention that the nation is celebrating Surprise Day today to pay tribute to the PAF for downing two Indian fighter jets – one of them piloted by Wing Commander Abhinandan Vardaman – on 27th February 2019.
The PAF carried out Operation Swift Retort and dropped bombs within the compounds of Indian military facilities in the occupied Kashmir as a warning to the country’s belligerent neighbor.
The Pakistani military had lived up to its promise to ‘surprise’ India in wake of any misadventure, saying that ‘uncalled-for aggression’ from the Indian military ‘would not go unpunished’.
The operation also resulted in the capture of an Indian pilot, Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman, after his Mig-21 was shot down. The pilot was later handed over to Indian authorities as ‘a goodwill gesture’.
