Kite-flying claims one life in Rawalpindi

Rescue teams reached the spot after being informed and shifted the dead and injured to hospital.

RAWALPINDI (Dunya News) – A minor boy was killed and another was injured when they fell from rooftop onto electric wires while flying kite in Rawalpindi on Friday, Dunya News reported.

According to details, the tragic incident occurred in Dhoke Kala Khan area where the two boys fell onto the electric wires while celebrating basant festival, killing one boy on the spot while the other received severe burn injuries.

Rescue teams reached the spot after being informed and shifted the dead and injured to hospital.

It is pertinent to mention here that basant festival was celebrated in Rawalpindi on Friday despite there is a ban on kite flying under the Punjab Prohibition of Kite Flying Act of 2009.
