PM launches plantation campaign, stresses to change lifestyle for future generations

PM Imran planted a sapling in Islamabad and inaugurated Spring Tree Plantation Campaign 2021.
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Prime Minister Imran Khan, while talking about the government’s target of planting ten billion trees across Pakistan, said seventy percent of Lahore’s trees were cut in past years.
The premier planted a sapling in Islamabad and inaugurated Spring Tree Plantation Campaign 2021. While addressing a ceremony on the occasion, he said the government is bringing change both in thinking and the land of Pakistan.
Imran Khan said, “Pakistan is a gift by Almighty Allah for us but unfortunately we could not value it. Plantation is necessary for future generations and we must change our lifestyle for their betterment.
“Lahore was once known as the city of gardens but pollution has increased in the provincial capital after trees were cut. The government has identified fifty places for plantation in Lahore and the drive is ongoing by the Miyawaki process.
“Cooperation of youth is required to make Pakistan green. Peshawar was known as the city of flowers but the situation today is also different there.
“Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government planted one billion trees in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa whose audit was conducted by organizations like the World Wide Fund (WWF) and the project was appreciated by international agencies.”
