Remittances from overseas Pakistanis in Jan up by 19% as compared to last year: PM

Imran Khan said remittances remained above $2 billion for eighth consecutive month.
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Prime Minister Imran Khan Monday said remittances from overseas Pakistanis were $2.27 billion in January 2021, which were up by 19% as compared to January 2020.
The premier took to Twitter and said the remittances remained above $2 billion for eighth consecutive month, up by 24% to date in this fiscal year as compared to the last. This is a record for our country and I thank our overseas Pakistanis, he added.
Imran Khan also shared good news from the industrial sector which showed sustained growth. Large scale manufacturing saw another double digit growth month in December 2020 – 11.4% growth vs Dec 2019, he said while adding that cumulative July to December growth is above 8% now.
