First batch of covid vaccine likely to reach Pakistan today

China has handed over a special container to Pakistan to bring 500,000 vaccine doses from Beijing.
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – The first batch of the coronavirus vaccine is likely reach Pakistan from China on Saturday by a special plane of the Pakistan International Airlines (PIA).
China has handed over a special container to Pakistan to bring five hundred thousand doses from Beijing. The national carrier will provide free service in this regard. The authorities have confirmed that China has donated a total of 1.1 million vaccine doses to Pakistan.
It is pertinent here to mention that Federal Minister for Planning, Development, and Special Initiatives Asad Umar had on Wednesday said that the vaccination of front line health workers will start from next week as the system is in place.
He said hundreds of vaccination centers in the country will be administering the Covid-19 vaccine. Earlier, the National Command and Operation Center (NCOC) made an integrated plan for the vaccination of the Covid-19 patients.
This plan was compiled – keeping in view the best international practices and health guidelines – by federal government in consultation with all stakeholders and provinces.
