Pakistan reports 46 deaths by coronavirus, 1,644 new cases in one day

LAHORE (Dunya News) – Pakistan has reported 46 deaths in the last 24 hours by novel coronavirus as the number of positive cases has surged to 541,031. The nationwide tally of fatalities has jumped to 11,560 on Friday.

According to the latest figures by the National Command and Operation Center (NCOC), 1,644 persons tested positive for COVID-19 in the past 24 hours.

Province-wise Details

Sindh remains the worst-hit province by the pandemic in terms of cases followed by Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan. Most numbers of casualties have been reported in Punjab.

Till now 244,340 coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Sindh, 156,404 in Punjab, 66,451 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 18,798 in Balochistan, 41,176 in Islamabad, 8,953 in Azad Kashmir and 4,909 in Gilgit-Baltistan.

Furthermore 4,681 individuals have lost their lives to the epidemic in Punjab, 3,969 in Sindh, 1,879 in KP, 194 in Balochistan, 476 in Islamabad, 259 in Azad Kashmir and 102 in GB.

Tests and Recoveries

Pakistan has so far conducted 7,848,316 coronavirus tests and 43,381 in the last 24 hours. 496,745 coronavirus patients have recovered in the country whereas 2,133 patients are in critical condition.
