Sindh establishes 14 COVID-19 vaccination centers

Sindh remains the worst-hit province by the pandemic in terms of cases.
KARACHI (Dunya News) – Government of Sindh has established 14 COVID-19 vaccination centers in the province and professionally trained staff has also been appointed.
As per details, nine centers have been established in Karachi, including two each in the South, East and Central districts, and one each in the Korangi, Malir and West districts. Sukkur, Larkana, Nawab Shah, Mirpur Khas and Hyderabad got one vaccination spot each.
The government is also in contact with Chinese, Russian and British vaccine makers and the jabs are likely to arrive early next month. Sindh Health Department has allocated Rs1.5 billion rupees to purchase vaccine and 125,000 frontline workers will be inoculated in the first phase.
On the other hand, Sindh remains the worst-hit province by the pandemic in terms of cases followed by Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Islamabad.
Pakistan has reported 74 deaths in the last 24 hours by novel coronavirus as the number of positive cases has surged to 537,477. The nationwide tally of fatalities has jumped to 11,450 on Wednesday.
Till now 242,793 coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Sindh, 155,214 in Punjab 65,953 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 40,972 in Islamabad, 18,765 in Balochistan, 8,877 in Azad Kashmir and 4,903 in Gilgit-Baltistan.
Furthermore 4,646 individuals have lost their lives to the epidemic in Punjab 3,925 in Sindh, 1,857 in KP, 469 in Islamabad, 258 in Azad Kashmir, 193 in Balochistan, and 102 in GB.
