Machh tragedy: Over 50 flights cancelled due to protest

Foreign airline flights from Karachi to Bangkok, Dubai, Kuwait and Colombo have been cancelled
KARACHI (Dunya News) – More than 50 flights of the Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) and foreign airlines have been canceled due the sit-in against terrorist attack in Machh which killed 11 members of the Hazara community. The sit-ins severely affected air operations.
According to a statement issued by the airport authorities, flights were canceled and delayed due to difficulties for the passengers to reach to airport. Foreign airline flights from Karachi to Bangkok, Dubai, Sharjah, Dammam, Kuwait and Colombo have been canceled.
In addition, PIA canceled eight two-way flights from Karachi to Lahore, Peshawar, Quetta and Islamabad, while foreign airlines canceled eight flights from Islamabad to Jeddah, Bangkok, Beijing and Al Qassim.
The statement further said that PIA’s 10 round-trip flights from Islamabad to Skardu, Dubai, Jeddah, Gilgit and Chitral, 4 round-trip flights from Lahore to Karachi and 8 round-trip flights of private airlines have been canceled.
