Govt, opposition must work together to resolve issues of public: Pervaiz Elahi

Pervaiz Elahi said that the PML-Q ministers were showing excellent performance in their departments

LAHORE (Dunya News) – Speaker Punjab Assembly and Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) leader Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi on Sunday said that the country’s situation demands collective efforts to solve the problems of public and the government and opposition must work together to resolve problems.

Punjab Minister for Minerals Hafiz Ammar Yasir called on Speaker Punjab Assembly Chaudhry Pervez Elahi at his residence and presented the performance report of his ministry.

During the meeting, the speaker Punjab Assembly lauded the initiatives and performances of the Minerals Department for the improvement of economic activities. He said that the PML-Q as an ally was working hard for the relief of the people, adding that we need to focus on public relief by accelerating economic activity.

Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi said that the PML-Q ministers were showing excellent performance in their departments, adding that the mission of PML-Q is public service as it started projects of public welfare in the past and are still taking the lead in public service.

Ammar Yasir while briefing the PML-Q leader said that the minerals department has issued cement licenses to 16 companies and an investment of Rs 560 billion is expected in Punjab, adding that the department has lifted the ban on coal licenses after 10 years.

The provincial minister went on to say that the minerals department has started the process of computerization of lease renewal and issuance of licenses. He said that exemplary steps including setting up 79 housing facilities and four dispensaries were taken with Rs13 million for the welfare of mines labor and seven schools.
