PTI delegation meets MQM-P leadership to discuss census issue

KARACHI (Dunya News) - A PTI delegation reached Bahadurabad on Thursday to appease MQM leaders over the census issue. MQM-P has demanded a new census to allay their concerns.

PTI leader Firdous Shamim Naqvi assured that the next census would be transparent. The two parties also discussed contesting the three vacant Sindh Assembly seats together.

This comes after MQM Pakistan leaders met PPP leaders on Wednesday to discuss matters of mutual interests including current political situation and Senate elections.

MQM Pakistan put forth their reservations in front of the PTI delegation and demanded a new census. On this occasion, MQM-P leader Faisal Sabzwari dashed PPP’s hopes and clarified the inclination of the party.

Firdous Shamim Naqvi declared the 2017 census invalid and assured to take steps for the next census to be transparent.

The meeting also considered having joint candidates in the by-elections for three vacant Sindh Assembly seats. Haleem Adil Sheikh and Khurram Sher Zaman were also present in the PTI delegation.
