Lawmakers argued that the resignations were not theirs.
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Speaker National Assembly Asad Qaiser has decided not to accept resignations of two Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) lawmakers over their plea.
As per details, PML-N MNAs Murtaza Javed and Sajjad Awan yesterday (Wednesday) termed their resignations fake and refused to confirm them.
The opposition lawmakers argued that the resignations were not theirs and requested the secretariat to reject them.
Earlier, the National Assembly Secretariat issued letters to both PML-N leaders summoning them for verifications of their resignations and said if they fail to appear before the speaker, it will be considered that they have nothing to say in their defense and the resignations will be accepted.
The secretariat said both Murtaza Javed Abbasi and Muhammad Sajjad Awan had tendered their resignations – on their official letter pads with documented signatures – in the National Assembly on December 14, 2020.
