Warrants can be issued if NAB chief fails to appear before senate: Mandviwalla
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Deputy Chairman Senate Saleem Mandviwalla has said that if the head of National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Justice (retd) Javed Iqbal does not appear before the Senate committee, his warrants may be issued.
Saleem Mandviwalla has said that the parliament should have to be self-accountable. Not all are thieves and robbers, action should be taken against those against whom there is evidence. If everyone is a thief, then the whole parliament should go home.
He said that the schedule of Senate elections could be changed only after the constitutional amendment which was not possible in a short span of time. Senate elections will be held on time and no one can change it.
Talking about the affairs of National Accountability Bureau, he said that what concern a businessman should have with NAB, if anyone buys or sells property NAB sends notice. Since when has import-export become under NAB, we are hearing strange things, he added.
He alleged that people left the country because of NAB. He said that it is the failure of the political parties that they could not bring amendments in NAB.
Regarding the political situation in the country, the Deputy Chairman Senate said that the PTI had also resigned in the past, their resignations remained pending which they later withdrew.
It is not uncommon for opposition parties to resign, it is their own decision. If political parties resign, no one can stop them.
