Sugar prices surge to Rs 81.93 per kg
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Price of sugar has surged to Rs 81.93 per kilogram despite government’s efforts to reduce the price of the commodity.
According to details released by the Bureau of Statistics, prices of 20 essential commodities have gone up in recent weeks, with garlic going up by Rs 11.58 per kg, eggs by Rs 4.33 per kg and bananas by Rs 1.77 per dozen. The prices of petrol, diesel, LPG as well as items like pulses, ghee and mutton have gone up in recent weeks.
According to the Bureau of Statistics, in one week, tomato prices came down by Rs 30.37, potatoes by Rs 12.68, onions by Rs 4.88 and chicken by Rs 5.39 per kg. During the week, prices of 8 items came down, 23 remained stable, while inflation fell by 0.22%.
