Timely start of mills crushing season provided relief to both consumers and farmers: Hammad
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Federal Minister for Industries and Production Hammad Azhar has said that the ex-mill and retail rates of sugar are down by approximately Rs30/kg in the last one month.
Hammad Azhar, in a tweet on Saturday, said that competitive sugar import by the government, its supply at control rates and timely start of mills crushing season provided relief to both consumers and farmers.
On the other hand, Federal Minister for Planning and Development Asad Umar has said that the price of sugar fell by an average of Rs31 over the last month.
He further said government faces opposition when it tries to fix the system and if opposition is from powerful elements of the society, bringing change becomes harder for the authorities.
