Met Office predicts rain in most parts of country

Met Office said a westerly weather system is present over western and upper parts of the country.

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast rain for Islamabad, Lahore and several other parts of the country as well as snowfall in several hilly areas during the next 24 hours, Dunya News reported.

According to Met Office, cloudy weather condition with rain is expected Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Lahore, Sialkot, Jhelum, Sargodha, Khushab, Gujrat, Noroval, Peshawar, Dera Ismail Khan, Dir and surrounding areas during the next 24 hours.

The Met Office said that rain is also expected during next 24 hours in Quetta, Zhob, Ziarat, Chaman, Chaghai, Pishin and Qilla Abdullah with snowfall in hilly areas.

According to Met Office, a westerly weather system is present over western and upper parts of the country and expected to persist in upper parts till Wednesday (morning).

Cloudy weather condition with rain (snowfall over hills) is expected in Islamabad, Kashmir, Gilgit Baltistan, Upper Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and north Balochistan. Cold and dry weather is expected elsewhere in the country. However, Fog is likely in some parts of southern Punjab and Upper Sindh during morning hours.

Meanwhile, Cold and dry weather prevailed over most parts of the country during last 24 hours. However, rain occurred in Malam Jabba, Mirkhani, Dir, Parachinar, Saidu Sharif and Kalam. Leh remained the coldest place in the country with -06°C temperature.
