No pressure from military, all decisions are my own: PM Imran Khan
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Prime Minister Imran Khan has strongly stated that there is no pressure or interference by the military in governmental affairs and that all decisions are his own.
Talking to a private TV channel on Saturday, Imran Khan said that Nawaz Sharif and Asif Zardari had registered cases against each other during their respective governments. He said that Pervez Musharraf gave NRO to both Nawaz Sharif and Asif Zardari.
While talking about corruption in the previous governments, the PM said that documentaries were made on corruption of Nawaz Sharif and Asif Zardari.
Prime Minister said we have made the institutions independent and there is no control of government on the National Accountability Bureau (NAB), however prisons department is under the control of the government.
In his answer to a question regarding FATF legislation, he said that opposition tried to blackmail the government over FATF legislation. The objective of the 34 amendments of the opposition was to get NRO. He, however, said those who plundered the national exchequer will be held accountable.
While talking about Sugar Inquiry Report he said that action is being taken on the report and cases have also been registered. He said that there was a sugar mafia and this is the first time an action has been initiated against the mafia.
Regarding 2018 general elections, the Prime Minister said the statistics prove, including the report of FAFEN, that these were far better and transparent than the ones held in 2013.
