LAHORE (Dunya News) – Punjab Governor Chaudhry Mohammad Sarwar has on Friday said Pakistan Democratic Movement’s (PDM) rallies will act as ‘coronavirus spreading campaign’ which are not in the national interest.
Punjab Assembly Deputy Speaker Sardar Dost Mazari called on Chaudhry Sarwar. The governor said it is the time to fight against coronavirus, not the government. He said the incumbent regime is strong and stable which will not be affected by rallies.
“We must follow the coronavirus standard operating procedures (SOPs) to prevent ourselves from the pandemic.
“We have to take Pakistan forward and its enemies backward. Democracy and parliament are getting stronger in Pakistan along with national institutions. Political interference in departments has been eliminated for the first time.
“Prime Minister Imran Khan is working for Pakistan’s progress. The federal and the Punjab governments are taking practical steps to solve problems of masses.”
Sardar Dost Mazari said the nation has complete trust in PM Imran Khan and the opposition’s agenda will fail. The opposition should follow the COVID-19 SOPs instead of holding public gatherings, he added.
