Govt-opposition deadlock on important national issues persists

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - The Deadlock between government and opposition on important national issues persists as the opposition has categorically stated that it will not attend the meetings of the parliamentary committee chaired by Speaker Asad Qaiser.

The opposition has refused to attend the parliamentary committee meeting chaired by the Speaker National Assembly as Asad Qaiser has been showing complete partiality in the House.

On the concerns of the opposition, the Speaker also invited the PDM for talks but the matter could not be settled. Asad Qaiser said that he was the custodian of the whole house and not of any party.

He said that he would continue to support the government and the opposition as before. The opposition should not politicize issues of national importance.

It is to be noted that the opposition has boycotted important meetings on national security, Gilgit-Baltistan elections and Coronavirus and has refused to be a part of any consultation.
