PM Imran offers full cooperation to end violence in Afghanistan
KABUL (Dunya News) – Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan on Thursday has assured to play positive role in maintaining regional peace with full cooperation to end violence in Afghanistan.
While addressing a joint press conference with Afghan President Ashraf Ghani in Kabul, the premier expressed ecstasy over Kabul tour and thanked the Afghan leadership for warm welcome.
He said that people on both sides of the border want peace, trade and connectivity. Both countries enjoy brotherly ties with each other, he added.
Speaking on occasion, Afghan President Ashraf Ghani said he had very productive engagement with Prime Minister Imran Khan. He said a comprehensive political settlement for enduring peace within the framework of our values and our constitution is the future of Afghanistan.
Ashraf Ghani said we can move forward and a comprehensive ceasefire can be reached.
Reacting to the rising trend of Islamophobia in some European countries, the Afghan President said respect for our Prophet Muhammad Sallallah-o-Alaihe Wa Aalehi Salam is in the blood and mind of every Muslim.
The positive freedom and negative freedom should be differentiated, he went on to say. Earlier, Prime Minister Imran Khan met Afghan President Ashraf Ghani during his one-day official visit to Kabul and discussed the entire spectrum of bilateral relations and peace process.
Both the leaders also deliberated upon regional security.
The premier also received guard of honor on his arrival at presidential palace in Afghanistan. Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi, Adviser on Commerce Abdul Razak Dawood and senior officials were also accompanying him.
The tour is a part of regular high-level exchanges between the two neighbouring countries. It will also build on the sustained engagement between the two countries in recent months for enhancing bilateral cooperation in diverse fields. PM Imran Khan’s visit will help foster a stronger and multi-faceted relationship between the two brotherly countries.
