Lahore Qalanadars beat Multan Sultans by 25 runs
KARACHI (Dunya News) - Lahore Qalandars have defeated the Multan Sultans by 25 runs to reach Pakistan Super Leagure (PSL) 2020 final where they will face off against Karachi Kings.
Playing first, Lahore Qalandars had set 183 runs target for Multan Sultans in second eliminator.
Multan Sultans had won the toss and decided to set Lahore Qalandars in to bat. Lahore Qalandars may feel they have the momentum after yesterday’s impressive 5-wicket win un a somewhat steep chase, and go in unchanged.
Lahore Qalandars’s right-handed batsman Wiese struck five boundaries and three sixes. On the other hand, Tamim made 30 runs and Fakhar scored 46 off 36 balls.
Fakhar and Tamim gave Lahore a flying start before the latter and Hafeez s partnership slowed the innings down, which was largely down to some incredible tight bowling by Multan s quadragenarian leg-spin duo of Afridi and Tahir.
Lahore lost their way and at one point it seemed their best bet would be to get to 160. But then David Wiese and Samit Patel formed a clutch 59-run partnership for the 6th wicket.
The winner of this contest will play Karachi Kings in the final on Tuesday evening.
