Sugar price rises to Rs 115 per kg

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - The price of sugar in the country has reached Rs 115 per kg, Dunya News reported on Saturday. According to the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics, the citizens of Peshawar are being sold the most expensive sugar in the country.

The government’s measures to drive down the price of sugar have so far proved ineffective, with prices continuing to rise across the country. It is currently being sold at the rate of Rs 115 per kg.

Sugar is being sold at Rs 110 per kg in Rawalpindi, Islamabad, Karachi, Sialkot and Gujranwala, while in Lahore, Sargodha, Multan, Bahawalpur and Hyderabad it is being sold at Rs 105. Its price is set at Rs 102 in Faisalabad and Khuzdar and Rs 100 per kg in Sukkur.
