CM Buzdar okays green electric buses for Lahore

Later, electric buses will be launched with public-private partnership in rest of the province: CM
LAHORE (Dunya News) – Chief Minister of Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar has approved green electric buses for Lahore’s 103 kilometer long six routes.
Usman Buzdar also approved recruitment of transport inspectors, sub-inspectors and sergeants and directed to take necessary steps for starting electric bus service as soon as possible. He also directed to raise status of Lahore Transport Company (LTC) to Punjab Transport Company (PTC).
A meeting chaired by the Punjab CM also deliberated on different options for purchasing of the buses. Usman Buzdar directed transport department to submit their recommendations regarding the purchase process after considering all the options.
CM Punjab also announced that electric buses will be launched with public-private partnership in rest of the province, which will help in reducing environmental pollution and smog in the province.
