Liquor license case: Former DG Excise Akram Ashraf Gondal released on bail
LAHORE (Dunya News) - The Lahore High Court (LHC) has granted bail to former DG Excise Akram Ashraf Gondal in liquor license case.
According to details, a two-member bench of the Lahore High Court comprising Justice Sardar Ahmed Naeem and Justice Farooq Haider heard the case.
Accused Akram Ashraf Gondal’s lawyer took the position that a false and baseless case was made against former DG Excise Akram Ashraf Gondal.
The lawyer said that Akram Ashraf Gondal had nothing to do with the liquor license case. The counsel for the petitioner raised the point that the DG Excise had the power to issue the license and issued the liquor license on the order of the High Court.
The NAB prosecutor told the court that the former DG Excise had not complied with the rules and regulations in issuing liquor licenses, so the bail application should be rejected.
After hearing the arguments, the court granted bail to former DG Excise Akram Ashraf Gondal and ordered his release.
