LAHORE (Dunya News) - The Punjab government has planned a relief package of Rs 2 billion to help the victims of the Hafeez Center fire. The Commissioner s Office has sent a report on the damage caused by the fire to Chief Minister Usman Buzdar.

According to the report, a working paper has been prepared to give alternate shops to affectees and the total damage to the trading center is estimated at Rs 2 billion. The Punjab government will provide the facility of financing from Punjab Bank to the victims.

Under the Punjab Chief Minister s Rozgaar Scheme, soft loans will be given at 5% markup and the Punjab government will bear 8% of the soft loan as a subsidy.

135 shops of the tower have been identified and owners have been offered the loans. The loan will be provided on easy terms of 5 to 8 years. Shop owners can get a replacement shop immediately if they so desire.

The affected shops at Hafeez Center will also remain the property of the original owners. Microfinance facility will be provided to the victims for purchase of burnt goods.

Both the groups of Hafeez Center have been taken on board in CM’s Hafeez Center relief package, which will be announced soon by either Prime Minister Imran Khan or Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar.
