Lahore: Orange Line train service opened for public

LAHORE (Dunya News) – The Orange Line Metro Train (OLMT) – a China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project – has on Monday been opened in Lahore for public after Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar inaugurated it yesterday.
The train started operation at 07:30 AM which will continue till 08:30 PM between Ali Town and Dera Gujran Terminals. The fare has been fixed at Rs 40. The project was scheduled to be completed in 27 months but was finished in five years as construction work remained halted at eleven points for sixteen months.
The track is 27.1 kilometers long and 24 stations out of 26 are elevated while two are underground. The terminals have been elegantly decorated. Automatic machines have been placed at the stations to check and recharge card balance. Ticket boxes are made for those who do not possess cards.
