All our arguments were accepted in today's SC verdict: Farogh Naseem

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Federal Law Minister Farogh Naseem has said that there is no need to file a review against today’s verdict by Supreme Court as all our arguments have been accepted.

Talking to Dunya News program ‘Dunya Kamran Khan kay Saath’, the Federal Law Minister said that the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) or the Supreme Judicial Council will determine whether Justice Isa has a money trail or not, this is why the matter was forwarded to FBR by the Supreme Court.

"We do not know whether the Supreme Judicial Council will take any action," he said. After the short order, the petitioner had filed the review.

Farogh Naseem said that whenever action is taken against anyone, the blame is put on the army and ISI. We did not intend to take action against Justice Isa, the reference was drafted by the Law Secretary and has my signature on it. He clarified that there is nothing against either of them or the President in the judgment.

The Federal Law Minister further said that Justice Faisal Arab remarked that the petitioner has a very good opportunity to prove his innocence. He said that FBR has held several hearings but hearings of the Supreme Judicial Council are kept secret.

He went on to say that the existence of London properties is an accepted reality, if the reference had been false or if the London property was not his, a strong verdict would have come against the government. The purpose of sending the case to FBR is to get the clarifications regarding the matter.

The federal law minister said that if money trail is presented in FBR, the case will be closed. “The federation, the prime minister, the president or even I have no malicious intention against Justice Faiz Isa”, he said.
