PCB likely to remove Azhar Ali from Test captaincy

PCB is not satisfied with Azhar Ali's performance as Test captain.

LAHORE (Dunya News) – The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is likely to remove Azhar Ali from Test captaincy as it has been learnt that the governing body is not satisfied with his performance during the England tour.

Sources familiar with the matter have informed Dunya News on Friday that Pakistan will be led by a new skipper in their upcoming red-ball series against New Zealand, and Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan are two strong candidates.

It has been reported that head coach Misbah-ul-Haq wants to see Mohammad Rizwan as the new Test captain whereas cricket committee is in favor of Babar Azam who leads Pakistan in white-ball formats.

The final decision will be taken by PCB Chairman Ehsan Mani. Pakistan are scheduled to play two-match Test series against the Kiwis from December 26.
