Polished Man drive: Male celebs paint nails to protest against child abuse

LAHORE (Dunya News) – Pakistani male celebrities have launched a unique drive ‘Polished Man’ and painted their nails to record protest against increasing incidents of child abuse.

According to details, the bigwigs from sports and showbiz fields are posting their pictures with fingernails painted to stop child abuse in the country.

The campaign is being spearheaded by Pakistani cricketer Wasim Akram’s wife Shaniera Akram who shared pictures of fellow celebs and wrote, “Some of the toughest men Pakistan has ever produced are showing their softer side and colouring one nail to represent the millions of children who suffer every day at the hand of an adult. Our Pakistani heroes say ‘We WILL NOT tolerate child abuse in our country’.”

Actors Humayun Saeed, Mikaal Zulfiqar, Bilal Ashraf, singers Shahzad Roy, Fakhar-e-Alam, YouTuber Shahveer, sportsmen Shoaib Malik, Amir Khan, Jahangir Khan, Waseem Akram and others have participated in the campaign.

It is to be mentioned here that the drive was started in Australia in 2014 to support early-stage social impact ventures with locally-led solutions to local problems. The organization supports projects across Africa, South Asia, the Pacific Islands and Australia.
