Govt decides against cutting petroleum levy
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf government has decided to increase the petroleum levy Rs 0.14 per liter.
According to sources, after the 14 paisa increase in petroleum levy, it has gone up from Rs 27.32 to Rs 28.46 per liter while that on high-speed diesel will remain at Rs 30 per liter.
Sales tax being collected on petrol and high-speed diesel is set at Rs 15.11 and Rs 15.12 per liter respectively.
The basic price of petrol has been reduced from Rs 51.50 to Rs 50.39 while the price of high-speed diesel has also been reduced from Rs 52.05 to Rs 51.92.
The levies, taxes and duties being collected on petrol and high-speed diesel are Rs 53.58 and Rs 54.14 per liter respectively.
