Many PDM parties reluctant to resign: Shah Mahmood
MULTAN (Dunya News) - Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi has said that many parties of Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) are reluctant to give resignations. He said if all the opposition parties resign then elections will be held.
Talking to media in Multan, the Foreign Minister said that the opposition should not support those who are making the Gilgit-Baltistan elections controversial. I hope the opposition will reconsider its attitudes and decisions.
He said that the opposition wants to divert attention from the accountability process. The government does not intend to make any concessions on accountability. The nation knows who is responsible for the economic woes.
Shah Mahmood Qureshi said that there was no threat to democracy. He said if there will be instability in the country the economic recovery will be hampered. If the opposition will target the country s institutions, the country s enemies will benefit.
He said that if the opposition is in pain of the nation, it should reconsider its decisions. Coronavirus is on the rise in the world. If care is not taken, more problems may arise. The army fully supported the nation in the battle of Coronavirus, he added.
Referring to the FATF, the Shah Mahmood said that Pakistan has made great progress. Pakistan has implemented 21 out of 27 FATF points.
