Customs foils bid to smuggle heroin worth Rs1.6 billion

KARACHI (Dunya News) - Customs officials have seized 176 kilograms of heroin worth more than Rs1.6 billion from an oil tanker in Winder area of Balochistan.

According to details, customs squad and accused exchanged fire. The accused took advantage of the darkness and managed to escape.

Customs officials have registered a case against the fugitives and efforts are underway to arrest them.

Chief Collector Customs Balochistan congratulated the customs staff on the successful operation.

On the other hand Excise intelligence has foiled bid to smuggle 1800 grams of heroin abroad which was hidden in 17 boxes of pencils, in Peshawar.
