Shehbaz Sharif was arrested so that the government can engineer the Gilgit-Baltistan polls: Marriyum
LAHORE (Dunya News) – Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) spokesperson Marriyum Aurangzeb on Tuesday has said that the incumbent government of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) is afraid of party president and Opposition Leader in National Assembly (NA) Shehbaz Sharif. In a statement, Marriyum Aurangzeb said that the federation is also afraid of PML-N and All Parties Conference (APC) and wants to disrupt the decisions taken in the opposition parties’ meeting.
Shehbaz Sharif was arrested so that the government can engineer the Gilgit-Baltistan polls just like General Elections 2018, she told.
On the other hand, PML-N’s Ahsan Iqbal has told that a meeting of Pakistan Democratic Movement will be held today (Tuesday) to discuss the situation created after the arrest of Shehbaz Sharif.
PML-N spokesman Ahsan Iqbal has told that the leaders of joint opposition will participate in the session. He said that strategy on the political revenge of PTI government will also be devised.
Earlier on September 28, 2020, National Accountability Bureau (NAB) team had arrested Shehbaz Sharif in money laundering case when Lahore High Court (LHC) rejected his bail plea. The anti-graft watchdog will present Opposition Leader before the court today for his physical remand.
