Surge in COVID-19 cases: 12 schools, 6 universities closed in Balochistan

At least 173 coronavirus cases have so far reported in the educational institutions in Balochistan.

QUETTA Dunya News) - Six universities and 12 schools have been closed in Balochistan after students and educational staff members tested positive for the novel coronavirus, Dunya News reported on Sunday.

According to details, a notification has been issued by the university administration to close Lasbela University for a week after students and staff members tested positive for coronavirus.

The Balochistan University of Engineering Khuzdar was also closed due to the spread of the coronavirus. Sources said that all the universities and their hostels will remain closed till September 26.

On the other hand, Loralai University has also been closed as a precaution while Quetta s IT University has also been closed due to spike in the coronavirus cases.

Earlier, Balochistan University and Sardar Bahadur Khan Women s University were also closed while 12 schools across the province have also been closed.

It is pertinent to mention here that at least 173 coronavirus cases have so far reported in the educational institutions in Balochistan.
