32 students test positive for coronavirus in Punjab
LAHORE (Dunya News) - In the first three days of schools reopening across Punjab, 34 people, including 32 children and two school employees, were found to be carrying coronavirus.
According to the spokesperson of Primary and Secondary Health Care, 24 students in Gujranwala, 7 in Nankana Sahib, one student and one employee in Bhakkar and one employee in Lodhran are confirmed to be coronavirus positive.
In Nankana Sahib, Government Girls Higher Secondary School Shahkot and Garrison School Nankana Sahib have been closed while some students tested positive in different schools of Gujranwala too. As many as 14,746 government and 1,566 private school students’ sample have been collected in Punjab.
Out of these, 13,796 samples have been tested and coronavirus has been confirmed in 34 students. Family members of affected children are being tested for coronavirus using contact-tracing. It was earlier announced that in case two students carrying the virus are found, the concerned school will be closed down for five days.
