Pakistan will continue to play its due role in the Afghan peace talks: Moeed Yusuf
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on National Security Division and Strategic Policy Planning Dr. Moeed Yusuf said that Pakistan is a responsible state and it does not want any tensions in the region.
During a media briefing, Moeed Yusuf said that Pakistan proudly presented the political map at the SCO meeting and Indian objections were rejected by the member countries and even Russia sided with Pakistan on the issue. Pakistan as a state does not want to make any forum dysfunctional, he added
The special assistant further said that SCO was not the right platform to raise objections on the map and Indian National Security Advisor Ajit Doval had to walkout from the meet after member countries refused to endorse Indian stance.
Highlighting Pakistan’s efforts, sacrifices and achievement in war on terror, Moeed Yusuf said that there is hardly any country that has performed like Pakistan against terrorism and now the whole world is recognizing country’s efforts. Pakistan will continue to play its due role in the Afghan peace talks, he added
He said that Pakistan is going to gain access to central Asia and now Russia also wants to have good relations with Pakistan.
