Notice issued to CCPO after irresponsible statement on motorway gang rape incident

LAHORE (Dunya News) – Chief Minister (CM) Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar has said that show-cause notice has been issued to the Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Umar Sheikh after irresponsible remarks on the motorway gang rape incident.

According to details Usman Buzdar while addressing a press conference in Lahore regarding the motorway gang rape case along with IGP Punjab, Provincial Minister of Punjab for Law Raja Basharat, Provincial Information Minister Fayyaz ul Hasan Chohan, said that the statement given by the CCPO regarding motorway gang rape was irresponsible, show cause notice has been issued and he will submit his reply to IGP Punjab within seven days.

Earlier the CCPO blamed the victim of leaving the house at midnight and taking Motorway route instead of GT Road without adequate fuel.

“The woman called her brother instead of police and her brother telephoned the motorway police at 130 to send a police mobile,” he told.

On the other hand, despite passage of three days, the security personnel have failed to arrest the suspects involved in the incident.
