Punjab govt decides to hold Local bodies' polls on Dec 4

LAHORE (Dunya News) – Punjab government on Sunday decided to hold the local bodies’ elections in the province on December 4.
The decision was taken in a meeting chaired by the Punjab Law Minister. The meeting decided that the elections will be held on a non-partisan basis.
In the first phase, elections will be held for village council and neighborhood council. Village council and neighborhood elections will be held on a non-partisan basis.
In this regard, the Punjab government has finalized the date of December 4 and sent it to the Election Commission.
In the first phase, 27,000 people will be part of the local government system, while in the second phase, tehsil council and metropolitan elections will be held in January.
However, the date for the second phase has not been finalized yet.
