IPEMC to consider reopening of educational institutes on Monday

SOPs related to educational institutions will be finalized i the meeting.

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – An important Inter-Provincial Education Ministers Conference (IPEMC) scheduled to meet on Monday (tomorrow) will take decision about the reopening of educational institutions in the country that were closed due to coronavirus pandemic.

Federal Minister for Education and Vocational Training Shafqat Mahmood, will chair the high-level meeting on the issue of re-opening schools under Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Provincial education ministers and other senior officials will attend the conference.

The meeting will take decision on the opening of educational institutions in the country.

Recommendations regarding resumption of activities in the institutions will be sent to the National Coordination Committee (NCC) after a detailed briefing by the officials of the Ministry of Health in the meeting.

Higher Education Commission Chairman and Executive Director will also attend the meeting. The six-point agenda of the meeting has been released. SOPs related to educational institutions will be finalized.

The meeting will discuss short academic syllabuses and examinations in 2021, while the BECS and NCHD transition plans will also be discussed.
