Board of Revenue issues notification making Kemari seventh district of Karachi
KARACHI (Dunya News) - The Sindh government has issued a notification to make Kemari a district.
A statement issued by the Sindh Home Department said that Kemari has been given the status of a district, the number of districts in Karachi has been increased to seven and the western district has been divided into two parts.
According to the notification issued by the Board of Revenue, the new district includes Kemari, Baldia, Site and Maripur sub-divisions. The western districts include Manghopir, Orangi Town and Mominabad sub-divisions.
It may be recalled that a few days ago, the Sindh government had tabled a resolution in the provincial assembly to make Kemari a district, which was opposed by the opposition.
Earlier, Karachi was consisted of six districts, including South, East, West, Malir, Korangi and Central.
